2026 Annual National Summit

Proactive Health in Action

We can’t afford to keep waiting until people get sick before taking health seriously.

The Annual Canadian Health and Fitness Summit unites communities, leaders, and organisations to help Canada shift from reactive to proactive health.

A Gathering for People Who Want Practical Progress

If you care about prevention, movement, wellbeing, and healthier communities, this Summit is designed to help turn shared concern into meaningful action.

Over two days in Ottawa, the Canadian Health and Fitness Institute will convene a cross-sector group of public leaders, community organisations, researchers, youth voices, national partners, and corporate leaders to explore what works, what scales, and what Canada can implement now.

This is not a political rally; it’s a non-partisan forum for content, dialogue, relationship-building, and practical follow-through.

Canada’s health challenges aren’t just clinical. They’re cultural, structural, and deeply practical.

Many Canadians are moving too little, sitting too much, and living in environments that make healthy choices harder than they should be. Too often, we respond after health declines instead of building systems, communities, and habits that help people stay well longer. The result is growing pressure on individuals, families, communities, and the health system.

It shouldn’t be this hard to build a healthier Canada.

What You Can Expect From The Summit

The CHFI Summit exists to move the health conversation forward in a practical way:

  • Explore real-world case studies in prevention and proactive health

  • Learn from leaders working across the community, research, youth, corporate, and public sectors

  • Build relationships that can lead to stronger collaboration and future partnerships

  • Surface ideas and models that communities and institutions can actually implement

  • Help shape the next chapter of Let’s Move Canada and CHFI’s national priorities

Program themes:

  • The next generation, movement, and mental well-being

  • Healthier communities where people live, learn, work, and play

  • Prevention as a sustainability strategy

  • Translating evidence into implementation

This Summit isn’t just about discussing what’s wrong. It’s about finding what works, strengthening the relationships needed to move it forward, and helping build a healthier, more proactive future for Canada.
